Who’s it for?
Designed principally for food handlers, this foundation food hygiene training course is also suitable for those providing services to the food industry e.g. pest control operators, maintenance engineers, cleaners, laundry and delivery drivers. There are no pre-requisites for the foundation food hygiene training qualification and arrangements are in place for special needs.

This foundation food hygiene training course covers: · The importance of food safety · Microbiological hazards · Food Poisoning and controls · Contamination hazards and controls · HACCP from purchase to service · Food handlers and personal hygiene · Food premises and equipment · Food pests and control · Cleaning and disinfection · Food safety enforcement
How is it assessed?
There is a one hour 30 question multiple-choice test at the end of the day and you need 20 out of 30 to pass. Following the course you will be sent a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Retail or Manufacturing certificate - the choice of which exam you take is yours. The certificate is generally considered to remain current for three years.
What will I get out of it?
The Level 2 Award in Food Safety qualification will provide you with knowledge of the basic food hygiene practices essential in the food industry.
